Blue Dasher (Pachydiplax longipennis)   I am calling this a male Blue Dasher, based on its slatey blue color, dark abdomen at the end tipped with white cerci. The Blue Dasher is carnivorous, and typically eats hundreds of insects daily. Adults eat flying insects, such as moths and flies. Nymphs eat other aquatic larvae, small fish, and tadpoles. Blue Dashers are voracious predators, consuming up to 10% of their body weight each day in food.
